Behind the Design
Circular Core

Where cloth, craft & care flow full circle
Circular by Nature
Every piece begins with storied kimono cloth — garments that have reached the end of their wearable life, yet still carry the lasting beauty of their past.
Each is carefully unpicked, cleaned, and reimagined through new forms. Working within the limits of each, I let the fabric’s story shape its next chapter.
Nothing is wasted. Even the smallest offcuts are set aside for future use — an echo of Edo’s circular wisdom.
Echoes of Edo
The Edo era was a time when beauty and sustainability coexisted — when materials were mended, reused, and deeply respected.
O Tsukiyo draws from this philosophy, merging traditional sensibilities with modern design. Each piece becomes a small act of remembrance — a bridge between eras, where what once was worn can live again in cherished form.
Each creation, no matter how small, is a reminder that what we preserve thoughtfully continues on.
The Hands that Make
O Tsukiyo is a one-woman studio, where slow craft meets careful contemplation.
Each design is hand-cut, sewn, and shaped with intention.
The subtle irregularities of upcycled silk and hand-finished edges remind us that beauty lies in process, not perfection.
Shaping a Gentler Way
Sustainability is not only in materials, but in mindset. I choose organic, plastic-free notions and work at a human pace — allowing each creation to carry its own soft integrity.
Through each small gesture, O Tsukiyo nurtures a gentler way of living — one that honours the craft and the shared world it belongs to.
